Week-Long A-Week Events (Monday - Friday)

Golden Cardinal Scavenger Hunt

  • Did you know that the original mascot for the University of Arkansas was a Cardinal? Although we are Razorbacks today, this history of the Arkansas Cardinals has not been forgotten. To commemorate our history, we’ve hidden a Golden Cardinal on campus.
  • Each day of A-Week, a riddle will be published in the Arkansas News leading you closer to where our Golden Cardinal has been hidden. You’ll have five days to try and find our Golden Cardinal before anyone else!
  • The finder of the Golden Cardinal will be able to keep the Golden Cardinal and win a $100 Dining Dollars Gift Card, $150 worth of Razorback merchandise from the Campus Bookstore, Signed Basketball by Razorback Basketball Coach, John Calipari, and a Flat Screen TV!
  • Click Here to Learn More about Rules and Riddles!

A-Week Help Desk

  • All week we’ll have an A-Week Help Desk in the Union for you to stop by with any questions that you need answered! Whether that is how to find a building or which event you should attend, stop by to visit with one of our A-Week Mentors anytime Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
  • We will be stationed in the Arkansas Union Connections Lounge.

Recoloring the Red Zone Color Crew

  • Throughout the week, watch for the Color Crew popping up around campus and distributing adult  “Recolor the Red Zone” coloring books and colored pencil packs.
  • The Color Crew is a team of student peer educators from the Campus Sexual & Relationship Violence Center. They will be distributing an educational coloring book that addresses “The Red Zone”. The Red Zone is a period at the beginning of the college school year when there is a significant spike in the occurrence of sexual assault among college students. This is a fun and engaging way for students to learn more about prevention, risk reduction, bystander intervention, and more.
